On Thursday, 8 November 2018, an assessment of Prespa National Park Management was held in the Park’s offices in Gorica e vogel, using for the first time the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT). The event was supported by experts from the Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT).

The activity was attended by representatives of foreign projects and programmes that are supporting the National Parks and conservation organizations in Prespa region, including PONT, Trans-boundary Biosphere Reserve Prespa, Pustec Minicipality and local NGOs, including CNVP Albania.

CNVP Albania contributed to the evaluation process by summarising work undertaken by the Prespa National Park Administration during 2017-18, and proposing future activities.

The METT method consists of a participatory assessment by stakeholders working in the National Park of Prespa, based on 12 risks factors and 30 cultural and social risks relevant to protected areas. During this process, the role of CNVP in the National Park of Prespa was mentioned several times as an organisation that has had a positive impact on improving park management.
