On 12 June 2019, a workshop was held in Skopje for the public, private and civil society sectors to inform them about the goals and main activities of the three-year, NORAD-funded project Regional Action for Combating Forest Crime and Corruption that is being implemented in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and North Macedonia by CNVP, Greenhome and FEA.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Water Economy, Public Enterprise National Forests, Forestry Police, Faculty of Forestry, as well as non-governmental organizations and other relevant institutions.

This project will provide conditions for controlling regional crime related to forestry through production of an innovative information system. It will also involve improving monitoring mechanisms, setting clear indicators, and improving networking in the region between the competent institutions.

The project will develop national action plans that propose more effective regulatory, monitoring and control mechanisms to combat crime and corruption in forestry in the Balkans based on analysis of positive examples from other countries in the wider region.
