Capacity building on forest management planning, monitoring, and silviculture

On 13 August 2020, CNVP Kosovo has organized field training on forest inventory, drafting of forest management plans, and the use of tools and methodology on data collection. 
Having in consideration safety measures due to pandemic situation, the training was organized in the field, with the group of forestry engineers and technicians from KFA regional office in Ferizaj, Associations of Private Forest Owners and Municipalities. 
Participants had the opportunity to see how the long term management plan is drafted, joint forest management practices, drafting of the annual plan and operational plan as well.

Practically was demonstrated how to handle with the modern tools for forest measurement and inventory, data processing, management unit bordering, and compartment division criteria.

 The importance of silvicultural activities on sustainable management planning was discussed, as well as stand structure, tree and crown position within the stand, thinning methods, and criteria for different forest types. 

The activity was organized in the framework of Project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forests (SSPDF) funded by SIDA which is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
