A group of around 20 farmers from North Macedonia recently visited a livestock farm in Kosovo to learn more about best practices for raising healthy and productive animals and also producing special products of cheese and meat. The participants were hosted by a farmer who runs a successful livestock farm in the Sharri region. The activity was realized in the framework of the project Sustainable future of Sharr/Korab/Koritnik which is being implemented from CNVP Kosovo in partnership with Euronatur MES from North Macedonia and PPNEA from Albania and financed by DBU.

During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to tour the farm, observe the animals, and ask questions about the farmer's techniques and strategies for managing his herd.

The Macedonian group of farmers were particularly interested in learning about the farmer's approach to nutrition and healthcare for the animals. They were impressed by the farmer's use of locally sourced feeds and supplements, as well as his careful monitoring of the animals' health and well-being.

In addition to learning the farmers also had the chance to network and exchange ideas with each other during the presentations delivered by the representatives of the model projects from livestock coming from Macedonia and Albania.  They discussed their own experiences and challenges with livestock farming, and shared tips and strategies for success. The visit was a valuable learning experience for the participants, who left with new insights and ideas for improving their own livestock operations. They expressed their gratitude to the host for his hospitality and expertise, and said they looked forward to implementing what they had learned back home.

The model projects of Livestock that are implemented in the Sharri region have been shown to be very successful while CNVP is continuously supporting the beneficiaries with promotion of sustainable management of the products.
