Gjinar, as one of the most touristic areas of Elbasan Municipality, has been selected by the Albanian Government to be included in 100 villages that will focus on rural tourism development.

CNVP Albania has supported local communities in Gjinar on forest protection and rural tourism, as well as product and value chain development (particularly for forest fruits), with a view to increasing employment opportunities and incomes.

Marking International Rural Women’s Day on 15 October, the women’s producer group in Gjinar exchanged experiences on rural development issues and practices with rural women from Puka, Elbasan and Korca, including the operation of a mini-fair.

Facilitated by CNVP Albania, ANRD and Agropuka, the exchange was supported through Forests for Local Economic Development, a project that is being implemented by CNVP Albania and supported by the Swedish Embassy
