From 19 to 22 October, approximately 150 students from vocational forestry schools in Skopje, Demir Hisar, and Kavadarci, North Macedonia, participated in educational workshops on integrated forest management.
Following the successful completion of the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Integrated Forest Management, teachers delivered theoretical sessions and facilitated practical field activities to transfer their knowledge and skills to students. The activities included planting on erosion-prone sites, demonstrating soil stabilisation and erosion control measures, and exploring the role of vegetation in soil conservation. Students also visited rehabilitated erosion sites to observe the results of implemented protection measures.

The workshops aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of integrated forest management and provide them with basic knowledge of erosion assessment, soil and water conservation, the selection of suitable plant species, and measures for the rehabilitation and protection of erosion-prone areas. 🌱
The activities were implemented within the framework of the “Integrated Forest Management along the Drin River Basin” project, implemented by CNVP with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Austrian NGO ICEP – weltweit mehr unternehmen, with support from Lenzing AG.
