CNVP North Macedonia team held a consultation and validation meeting with stakeholders

On August 26, at the premises of Shar Mountain National Park in Tetovo the CNVP North Macedonia team held a stakeholder consultation and validation meeting with representatives who had actively participated in the workshops conducted under the 4 Returns Framework.

The team presented the Forest Landscape Restoration Strategic and Action Plan for the 5V Micro-region of Shar Mountain, outlining the proposed strategic priorities, key intervention areas, implementation responsibilities and monitoring indicators.

The plan serves as an operational planning document for the restoration and sustainable development of the 5V Micro-region (five villages) of Shar Mountain. It uses the 4 Returns Framework as its guiding approach and translates the findings of the diagnostic assessment, stakeholder inputs and identified threats into concrete and actionable strategic objectives. Particular attention is given to ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, sustainable local livelihoods, biodiversity conservation, cultural heritage, responsible tourism and stronger community engagement.

A key part of the meeting was the validation of the Restoration Landscape Plan by the participating stakeholders. This participatory validation process helped ensure that the proposed actions are realistic, locally relevant and aligned with the needs and priorities of the communities living and working in the micro-region.

The meeting also opened a discussion on the upcoming sub-granting call and the potential priority project initiatives that could be supported through the call.

This meeting was held within the framework of the project โ€œProtecting Unique Landscapes & Species in Albania and North Macedonia,โ€ implemented by CNVP North Macedonia and CNVP Albania, with financial support from Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT.
