From 4–13 September, Peja and Gryka e Rugoves came alive with climbing, outdoor activities and a strong message: caring for nature is part of enjoying it.
Through the “Shaping the Future of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna Region” project, CNVP Kosovo supported the Peja Rock Climbing Festival 2026, organised by Marimangat e Pejës, with the support of the Municipality of Peja, the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park Directorate and other partners.
The festival brought together climbing enthusiasts, volunteers and the local community, combining outdoor sports with practical action for the environment.
As part of the festival, participants took part in clean-up activities in climbing areas and the Rugova Gorge, alongside other initiatives under the message “150 Good Things for the Environment.” These included opening new climbing routes, collecting waste and planting seedlings.
For CNVP Kosovo, supporting initiatives like this is part of our commitment to protecting natural values, raising environmental awareness and promoting sustainable tourism that respects and safeguards the places people come to enjoy.
