CNVP North Macedonia Organizes Training of Trainers on Integrated Forest Management and the Use of Practical Teaching Methods

On 13 and 14 October, a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) was held in Skopje, North Macedonia, targeting secondary school teachers. The training was delivered by professors from the Faculty of Forestry, Landscape Architecture and Eco-Engineering β€œHans Em” at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.

Through interactive and practical activities, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of integrated forest management and explore methods they can apply in their teaching, transferring the knowledge and skills gained to their students.

As part of the training, the teachers took on the role of students, analysing practical case studies and assessing forest conditions, the degree of degradation, erosion, natural regeneration, and the impacts of climate change and human activities. Particular attention was given to measures for water and soil conservation, their integration into a comprehensive approach, and the selection of appropriate solutions for the sustainable management of forest ecosystems.

The training concluded with a joint discussion and an exchange of experiences on how the knowledge gained can be incorporated into teaching and used to encourage practical learning among students.

🌱 The training is part of the regional project β€œIntegrated Forest Management along the Drin River Basin”, implemented by CNVP with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Austrian non-governmental organization ICEP – weltweit mehr unternehmen, and with support from the Austrian fibre company Lenzing AG.
