Title: Project coordinator

Position summary

CNVP is seeking a person to fill the position of Project coordinator for the “Communities communicating climate change (CCCC)” project that is funded by the European Union.

The Project coordinator will be part of the CNVP Macedonia team. He or she will be primarily responsible for the implementation of activities under the CCCC project, as well as contribute to implementation of CNVP’s annual plan. The Project coordinator will work from CNVP Macedonia’s office in Skopje, but will be required to travel around Macedonia to implement CCCC project activities.

Responsibilities

The Project coordinator will be required to:

• Support the general implementation of the CCCC project in coordination with Eko-Svest;
• Cooperate with national and local institutions in the promotion and involvement of different state/local institutions to achieve CCCC project results;
• Organize and conduct climate related events envisaged in the CCCC work plan;
• Support the project team and its partners in the organization and implementation of other activities related to the CCCC project;
• Promote CNVP and the project in line with the core values of the organization and commitments envisaged under the CCCC project;
• Monitor and evaluate the achievement of project outcomes and results; and
• Report regularly to the lead partners and the EU according to project requirements.

The Project coordinator will report directly to the CCCC Project Manager, and to the CNVP Macedonia Country Director. The Project coordinator will cooperate with project partners and clients related to project implementation, as well as contribute to promoting CNVP as a reliable partner organisation in Macedonia, as well as on a cross-border and regional basis.

Personal characteristics

Education

Minimum Bachelor degree in Natural Sciences or other relevant proven experience in climate change issues.

Specialization: Natural resource management, Project management, Institutional and organizational development, Climate change issues

Competences: Team player and a good participatory approach, as well as able to plan, manage and report

Skills

Languages: Fluent in both written and spoken English and Macedonian languages

Driving license: minimum B – category (with driving experience)

Command of IT: Excellent knowledge of MS office package, Outlook, and the internet.

Others: Communication and organizational skills

Work experience

Professional: Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in a comparable organization and/or professional institution; Extensive experience with project implementation and activities related to Forestry and/or Natural Resource Management and/or climate change issues, project management and networking.

Length of contract

The Project coordinator will be appointed on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2020. There will be a six month probation period.

Salary

Salary will be consistent with the responsibilities of the Project coordinator.

Start date

The start date for employment of the Project coordinator will be 1 December 2018.
