During 3-4 December 2018, more than 150 participants met at the Adriatic Wood Days conference that was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Highlights of the event included: the increased role of wood biomass as a source of renewable energy; the latest information on European projects; and the identification of successful regional projects.

Participants emphasized the main constraints in today’s wood industry are education and knowledge transfer, as well as the low interest of sector staff and young professionals.

CNVP Macedonia’s Sasho Petrovski contributed to the panel discussion on possibilities for greater use of wood biomass in district heating systems in South East European countries.
