The National Association of Private Forestry Owners (NAPFO) and the Association of Private Forestry Owners (APFOs) work with their members to increase their capacities for service delivery. This includes training on forest practices covering: forestry measures; forest management plans; silvicultural work (cleaning, thinning and afforestation); fire protection; use of motor chain and safety measures; education on forestry; use of wood biomass; and information sharing on non-timber forest products.

To strengthen service delivery capacities, CNVP Kosovo has designed a forestry incentive package for NAPFO and all the APFOs that are involved in the process of Joint Forest Management.

The package includes the following forest equipment/accessories: chainsaw 2,2–2,8 kW, chainsaw sharpening set, filing lever, turning hook, clearing knife, axe, measuring tape, forest jacket, protective trousers, protective boots, rubber boots with saw protection, forest helmet, gloves with saw protection, forestry first aid, bags, fuel and oil canister, and GPS.

An event to deliver the forestry package for training and operational works was held on 21 December 2018 in Pristina, with participation by NAPFO and the APFOs, as well as MAFRD’s Department of Forestry and the Kosovo Forest Agency.

This activity was supported by the Sida-funded project being implemented by CNVP Kosovo - Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forestry
