CNVP Kosovo supports the International Day of Forests
On 21 March 2019, CNVP Kosovo and the National Association of Private Forest Owners (NAPFO) marked the International Day of Forests (IDF) with activities in schools and municipalities in the western part of Kosovo. This helped to raise awareness amongst school children and the general public about how to manage forests on a sustainable basis to provide a wide array of benefits.
As IDF’s theme for 2019 was Forests and Education, the Kosovo Forestry Agency (KFA) donated to NAPFO more than 2,000 tree seedlings for planting. Together, schoolchildren and APFO representatives planted them in several school grounds.
CNVP works closely with NAPFO, KFA and the municipalities to raise awareness about the importance of forests and forest protection.
The activity was supported by the Sida-funded project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralised Forests that is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
