META is the news channel of the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), an international non-profit association.

EEB is Europe’s largest network of environmental citizens’ organisations, bringing together around 140 CSOs from more than 30 European countries. It stands for sustainable development, environmental justice and participatory democracy.

Two weeks after the European elections, META has identified (for new MEPs and potential Commissioners) five green ideas for the EU in the next five years:

1. A European Green New Deal;
2. New European Commission Vice-Presidents for Environment and Climate Change;
3. A Sustainable Development Goals strategy;
4. Net zero emissions; and
5. A ‘Paris moment’ for Biodiversity.
