Representatives from Swedish Embassy visited project partners in Kosovo
On 29 July 2019, CNVP Kosovo organized a field visit for the representatives of the Swedish Embassy. The visit took place in the Municipalities of Gjakova and Rahovec.
The SSPDF project focuses on woman and youth producer groups acting within local Associations of private forest owners in order to promote the development of value chain for non-wood forest products.
Initially, a visit was realized to the producer group in village Babaj Bokes in Gjakove, where discussions were focused on the work and achievements of the group in developing the forest fruit value chain. Through their work on (cultivation, collection, processing and trade of; raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, aronia etc.) the group has been able to strengthen the capacity of the association members and to increase the number of members in the association. Another visit took place in village Krusha to the woman entrepreneurs. Guided by the coordinator of woman group the Swedish guests had the opportunity to see the process of working around the preservation and packaging of local products / vegetables and were introduced to their business development work since they have been formed in cooperatives. Actually their products manage to export to the EU Countries.
The visit was organized in the framework of Project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forests (SSPDF) funded by SIDA which is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
