On 9 September 2019, the process of Joint Forest Management (JFM) in village of Pishtan and Turajke of Peja municipality in level of the pilot project has been finalized through contract signing between Kosovo Forestry Agency (KFA), Peja Municipality and beneficiaries.

With this step local communities in close cooperation with KFA and local authorities will start to practice sharing responsibilities for improving forest management for forest protection as well as fulfilling needs of families for firewood. This process has been assisted by the Forest Owners’ Association, the forest commission and the families which benefited from JFM.

The activity was supported through the Sida-funded project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forests that is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
