On 21 September 2019, CNVP Macedonia will organize Bike climate rally within the European mobility week.

The event will be organized in order to raise awareness of the citizens on climate change and the citizen mobility, especially in the city.

The transport sector in the country take part of 13% from the total national greenhouse gases emission in 2014, and since than there has been a growing trend due to the increased number of vehicles in the country.

In the last couple of years, the citizens from Macedonia suffers from air pollution, in large part due to transport. Air pollution is a “silent killer” as it seriously affects human health, but also significantly contributes to climate change.

In addition to this, we need to think about how to adapt the transport sector to extreme weather conditions and at the same time to influence on climate change mitigation by favoring forms of transport with low carbon footprint.

On this day, while biking we will also ask from decision makers for more bicycle and pedestrian zones in the city with functional greenery, in order to facilitate biking in high temperature conditions and highways for bikes that will link cities.

We will bike from the Assembly of R. North Macedonia to the City Park, where we will finish with Climate movie night.
