On 14th and 15th October 2020, CNVP Albania had the honor to present the programme activities implemented in Diber, to Her Excellency Ms. Elsa Hastad, Ambassador of Sweden in Albania.
The visit included a presentation of programme activities implemented under the Forest for Local Economic Development project in Ulza and Melan Administrative Unit. The meetings were with different stakeholders working on sustainable forest management and protection and women producer groups within Forest Users Associations, with which CNVP has close cooperation.
Women groups presented to the Ambassador of Sweden the achievements done in the framework of FLED projects supported by Sweden such as:
-         Role of women in forestry Associations;
-         Decision making and women participation;
-         Forest management and protection;
-         Family rural tourism development;
-         Forest product development & marketing & fair organisation, Networking B2B;
-         Value chain development;
-         Group functioning ;

The 15th of October marked as International Day of Rural Women, was highlighted and provide a good opportunity to meet and discuss with women on their activities, needs, and further development through economic empowerment and equality for which the Embassy of Sweden is providing support.
Forest products play an important role in the livelihood of the rural families in the Diber region and CNVP aims to strengthen and provide capacity building in the region more focused on the development of the MAP sector as a huge potential for income generation, job creation, and empowerment.
