Organized Workshop on Joint Forest Management
On 5 March 2021, a workshop on Joint Forest Management took place in the Pristina region. The purpose of the workshop was to analyze the achieved progress during 2020 regarding the implementation of JFM in 11 municipalities as a pilot project, biomass production, fast-growing trees, etc.
During this workshop, CNVP Kosovo, NAPFO, and KFA staff discussed challenges, risks, opportunities, and coordination of activities related to JFM, and promotion of Fast Growing Trees and chestnuts forest in Kosovo. The workshop provided information on processes of joint forest management, legal issues, management plan preparation practices, and its implementation in the field.
Also, were identified and discussed some issues for inclusion and finalization of some activities in the annual plan with forest management for 2021, modeling through good silvicultural practices, fast-growing tree species, biomass, etc.
In the workshop, the annual plans of forest management for 2021 were presented to include JFM activities that are in the process of implementation in 11 municipalities and other joint activities.
The activity was supported through the Sida-funded project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralised Forests that is being implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
