CNVP Macedonia held MOVING Vulnerability Analysis Workshop in Berovo
On 12th November 2021, CNVP Macedonia held a Workshop on “Rural Tourism - vulnerability analysis of land systems” with local stakeholders of Maleshevija in the city of Berovo. Participants in the workshop compose the regional MAP (multi-actor platform), coming from the civil, business, and public sectors, who are well acquainted with the knowledge of the region of Maleshevija.
The workshop assessed the vulnerability of land-use systems in the region of Maleshevija, including climate change and depopulation as the most relevant threats. During the discussion prevailed calls for increasing the tourism infrastructure and maintaining the original landscape of the region.
This activity is within the framework of the MOVING project (Mountain Valorization through Interconnectedness and Green growth) funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, where CNVP is the implementing partner for North Macedonia. The project aims to build capacities and co-develop – through a bottom-up participatory process that involves value chain actors, stakeholders, and policy-makers – relevant policy frameworks across Europe for the establishment of new or upgraded/upscaled value chains that contribute to the resilience and sustainability of mountain areas to climate change.
