CNVP Kosovo held a field visit on biomass production with the representatives of the Sweden Embassy
On 9th February 2022, the CNVP Kosovo team was delighted to organize a joint field visit with the representatives of the Sweden Embassy in two municipalities by presenting two different topics of the SSPDF project and discussing opportunities of the new SUNRED project.
In the municipality of Drenas, the head of the Association of Private Forest Owners presented last year's activity related to the silvicultural model in the public forest. The members of the Drenasi association in cooperation with local authorities realized the silvicultural cleaning of the 3.0 ha forest area that is being used as a recreational park by the local community.
The main purpose of this activity was forest rehabilitation, fire protection, and collection of wood biomass for heating. The waste forest material was collected in cooperation with the Association of Private Forest Owners in Hani I Elezit and was chipped and delivered to the school of Hani I Elezit.
The delegation continued the visit in Gjakova by meeting the Women and Youth Producer Group that is functioning within the Association of Private Forest Owners in Gjakova municipality. The Head of WYPG introduced the group with the achievements of women engaged in the value chain of forest products and their benefits from the small-scale production of different varieties of soft fruits especially strawberries that are sold in the local market.
