CNVP North Macedonia team and experts held a meeting with officials of the Sar Mountain NP
CNVP North Macedonia team held a meeting with officials of the Sar Mountain National Park. In the meeting, CNVP presented the experts who will be working in the field of NBT (Nature-based tourism), NTFP (Non-timber forest products), and biodiversity, in the next few months within the framework of the project "Sustainable use of natural resources in Shar, Korab-Koritnik and Albanian Alps", financially supported by PONT.
At the meeting, the experts gave a brief description of how the research will proceed according to their TORs, and the way forward in close consultations with the National Park in order to successfully implement the fieldwork. All parties emphasized that the cooperation will be at the highest level.
The results of the field research undertaken by the experts will result in concrete recommendations for the project to contribute in the coming period.
Our experts:
Prof, Dr. Katerina Rusevska will be responsible for the research related to biodiversity and she will do an Assessment of the Impacts of Nature-Based Tourism and Collection of Non-Timber Forest Products on the Conservation Status of Ecosystems, Habitats, and Species in Mavrovo and Sar Mountain National Parks;
Prof. Dr. Besnik Redzepi will be in charge of the Inventory of NTFPs and MAPS in Sar Mountain and Mavrovo National Parks with high benefits and assessment of their potential for organic cultivation at a farm level
Prof. Dr. Ivica Milevski will do an Identification and analysis of the contribution of Nature-Based Tourism (NBT) to nature conservation and national community development in Mavrovo and Sar Mountain National Park.
The selected experts have several years of experience in the field in which they will work.
