Prishtina, November 24, 2023 -In a crucial move towards fostering environmental awareness and sustainable practices, CNVP Kosovo organized the workshop on Biodiversity and Climate Change in Forests. Led by international and local environmental experts, the workshop brought together representatives from various national organizations, setting the stage for an insightful exploration of the relationship between biodiversity, climate change, and effective forest management practices.

The workshop focused on the importance of biodiversity, its connection with climate change, and various components, including tree species, age diversity, and special biotopes. Economic aspects, such as income generation through Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP), subsidies, and educational measures like field visits, were also discussed.

By the end of the workshop, participants had a thorough understanding of biodiversity in forests, opportunities for income creation, and effective climate change mitigation measures. A key outcome of this workshop was the development of a comprehensive action plan through the collaborative efforts of local and international experts. This action plan, is designed to address the pressing issues of biodiversity and climate change.

The SUNREED project commitment to fostering sustainable practices through knowledge dissemination and skill development was evident in this national-level workshop. Participants engaged with the comprehensive curriculum, aiming to contribute to biodiversity preservation and climate change mitigation on a national level.
