CNVP Initiative for Advancing Sustainable Wood Biomass Utilization in Kosovo
In the framework of the SUNREED project "Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for the Environment and Economic Development", CNVP is continuosly making important steps in the promotion of sustainable energy solutions by cooperating with key stakeholders of the biomass production for renewable energy productuion.
Following this, the SUNREED project has facilitated the drafting of the “Roadmap on wood biomass production and use”. A draft of roadmap was prepared based on evidence of information and avialable data about wood biomass potential and demand. The document represents a comprehensive and actionable plan to exploit the potential of wood biomass production and use and also promotes sustainable economic growth, environment protection and climate change combation.
Further one, on 19 December, a round table disccusion took place presenting the final draft of the roadmap for the wood biomass production, marketing and use.
Local and international experts, representatives of public of key institutions such as: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Ministry of Economy, Fund for Energy Efficiency, National Association of Private Forest Owners, European Union Office in Kosovo, German International Cooperation (GIZ), NIRAS, private wood company’s and other stakeholders were particiapting and contributing with their sugetions, reamrks and reccomendations for final draft.
In addtion, Roadmap was considered an important document, which will serve to all stakeholders: decsion makers for desigining policy, and to all stakeholders that are operating in the this sector.
This event is organized in the framework of the project "Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development (SUNREED), financed by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina/Sida and implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
