Increasing financial management capacities for project beneficiaries in the Albanian Alps National Park

CNVP Albania is implementing the project” Sustainable use of natural resources for transboundary socio-economic development of protected areas in Albania and North Macedonia (Korab-Koritnik, Sharr and Albanian Alps)” supported financially by Prespa OhridNature Trust Fund-PONT.

CNVP is partnering with local NGOs, businesses and farmers, through a grant scheme, in raising awareness, building capacities and creating an enabling environment for ensuring sustainable use of Protected Areas for tourism purposes. In this regard, on 13^th March 2024, a workshop on financial management was organized in Shkoder with the beneficiaries who have been recently awarded grants.

 During the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to ask direct questions and get clarity among which can be highlight:

• Procurement rules and templates to be used
• Required documentation and ways for reporting the grantee’s contribution
• Financial reporting rules, who, when and how?
• Fiscal obligations and reporting methods
• Clarifications to the participants regarding the problems encountered

The project will continue providing capacity building for the local organizations and other project beneficiaries, in the field of the general management, and in particular the financial management to ensure successful implementation of the project activities as well as strengthening local actors to pursue their own sustainable development
