Celebrating International Day of Forests 2024
CNVP Kosovo marked the International Day of Forests on March 21, 2024 by starting the first phase of afforestation and land processing activities in the area of Vranishti, Dragash in the framework of Integrated Forest Management project along the Drin River basin.
By combining traditional and innovative methods, such as shelter tubes and multispectral camera monitoring, reforestation is being carried out to restore degraded lands and promote forest health. The activities carried out include practical training by the project consultant, professor Faruk Bojaxhiu and the start of the first phase of afforestation in accordance with the objectives of the IFM project.
Fostering learning about the importance and good management practices of forests, is highly promoted and encouraged by involving a broad range of stakeholders and leaving no one behind.
The International Day of Forests, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012, is celebrated on March 21 and serves as a platform to advocate for the importance of all forest ecosystems. This year's thematic focus is on "Forests and Innovation."
