We are thrilled to share the news that we are commencing a new project, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union (EU), implemented by CNVP North Macedonia.

The new project, “Capacity Building Programme for Sustainable Tourism with focus on Non-Timber Forest Products,” was signed between CNVP North Macedonia and UNDP North Macedonia and will be implemented for the next 30 months.

The primary objective of the project is to establish and endorse the local value chain in Prespa, including indigenous cuisine, handcrafts, and abundant natural resources found in NTFPs.

The project aims to support RWoP (Rural Women of Prespa) for capacity-building activities to be conducted in the processing, packaging, branding, and marketing of NTFPs. Efforts will be directed towards fostering connections between NTFP collectors, producers, and traders. The project will also develop catering services featuring local specialties incorporating NTFP`s from the Prespa region, promoting them through social media. A comprehensive value chain analysis will be undertaken to identify potential transboundary market opportunities for NTFPs.

The project will also support networking among similar organizations in the trans-border region of Prespa, fostering synergy for sustainable development. The time frame of the project is 30 months.

The activities which will be undertaken by CNVP are part of the project „EU for Prespa - Restoration of natural resources and enhancing sustainable agriculture and tourism“, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP. CNVP will carry out the activities under the Specific Objective aimed at enhancing economic activities to improve the prosperity of the people in the Prespa region. The anticipated outcomes include advances in environmentally friendly agriculture and sustainable tourism.
