CNVP Albania, in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), is actively working to promote sustainable business models and inclusive economic growth for the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) sector in rural Albania. Through its Local Economic Development (LED) project, CNVP supports MAPs exporters to expand their market reach by facilitating participation in prominent international events, fairs, and business-to-business (B2B) meetings. One of the key events identified for boosting the visibility of the Albanian MAPs sector was the Nordic Organic Food Fair.

The Nordic Organic Food Fair, a premier trade expo for natural and organic food and beverage products, took place this year from October 9-10 at Kistamässan in Stockholm, Sweden. The fair provided a significant platform for thousands of retailers and foodservice professionals to explore new products, network, and establish business connections across Scandinavia and beyond. With Sweden recognized as a global leader in organic practices, particularly in the public sector, the fair presented an opportunity for Albanian companies to learn from the best and expand their influence in the Nordic markets.

According to Organic Sweden, 37% of public sector purchases in the country are organic, making Sweden a key growth market for organic products. The show has garnered strong support from organizations like IFOAM Organic Europe, Organic Denmark, and Organic Norway, underscoring its importance within the global organic industry.

Several MAPs companies supported by the LED project took part in this year's fair, engaging with industry experts, discovering new products, and gaining insights into market trends. They also attended seminars on topics such as certification standards, evolving consumer behaviors, and food and drink trends, which added further value to their participation.

CNVP Albania remains committed to supporting sustainable economic development in the MAPs sector by connecting Albanian exporters with key international markets, fostering knowledge exchange, and facilitating access to opportunities that drive growth and innovation. The participation in the Nordic Organic Food Fair is a testament to the foundation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of rural businesses in Albania.
