Berlin, Germany, 09 – 11 October 2024
From October 9-11, 2024, the Southeast Europe Association and the Aspen Institute Germany hosted the Civil Society & Think Tank Forum 2024 as part of the Berlin Process, with generous support from the German Federal Foreign Office. This forum brought together representatives from civil society organizations, public authorities, the EU, and stakeholders from the Western Balkans and EU member states.
Mr. Xhevat Lushi, a member of the CNVP Executive Board, attended the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process. Over 2.5 days, participants discussed key topics such as the Common Regional Market, Mobility, EU Integration and the Berlin Process, Gender and Diversity; Energy, Climate Change, and Carbonization; Environmental protection and sustainable economic development.
Building on insights from the Preparatory Forum held in July in Skopje, participants shared policy recommendations to guide key stakeholders and decision-makers from the region and the EU, just days before the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit on October 14, 2024.
Since its second summit in Austria in 2015, the Civil Society & Think Tank Forum has become essential to the Berlin Process, empowering civil society to share their ideas and contribute to cooperation and integration in the Western Balkans.
The Berlin process was set up in 2014 as a platform to increase cooperation between the Western Balkans Six and the Berlin Process host countries as well as the EU. It is first and foremost a consistent and inclusive format for all 6 Western Balkan countries.
