CNVP Kosovo Announces New Partnership
CNVP Kosovo is pleased to announce a new partnership supporting sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in rural Kosovo!
An agreement was signed with Kastrioti N.P., a family-run business from the village of Llapashticë e Poshtme in Podujeva Municipality. Managed by Aferdita Murati, Kastrioti works alongside a group of women and youth producers to make a real impact in the community.
The general purpose of the agreement is to –
- Improve infrastructure for collection and processing of NWFP such as soft and seed forest fruits by involving local community (marginalized groups) for both collection and cultivation
- Increase access to markets through producing new products (fruits with seeds), improving product quality and increase of overall fruit production
- Create new employment opportunities for collectors and farmers of marginalised groups (women & youth), resulting in their income generation and reduction of poverty.
Activities of the partnership include:
- Enhancing infrastructure for collecting and processing NWFPs, by purchasing and installation of equipment/infrastructure (new technology for processing of seed fruits).
- Improvement of Kastrioti product branding and marketing.
- Capacity building in terms of training and technical support on sustainable harvesting of NWFPs and MAPs.
The agreement presents a valuable opportunity for the local community, the environment, and the economy to grow and prosper together.
This initiative is part of CNVP Kosovo's Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development (SUNREED) project, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Prishtina (Sida).
