On March 21, CNVP Albania celebrated International Day of Forests by taking action to restore degraded areas in Zalli i Gjadrit and Korthpulë. This year’s theme, “Forests and Food”, highlights the vital role forests play in providing food, supporting biodiversity, and improving livelihoods.

To support this mission, CNVP Albania, in collaboration with the National Forest Agency, local municipalities of Vau i Dejës and Pukë, and community organizations like Shkodër Forest & Pasture Users Federation and Qerret’s Forest & Pasture Users Association, planted fast-growing trees and chestnut seedlings that will protect soil from erosion. These efforts will protect the land, create habitats for wildlife, and provide food for local communities and the wild fauna.

During the event, CNVP Albania representatives, shared the importance of reforestation, not only to help save the environment but also create job opportunities and boost economic development for local communities.

Artur Kala, Director of the National Forest Agency, also highlighted the significance of such initiatives for climate protection and sustainable development.

Representatives from regional municipalities thanked CNVP Albania for this initiative and called for more similar projects in the future, showing strong support for collaborative efforts in protecting nature.

This project is funded by ADA (Austrian Development Agency) and implemented by CNVP Albania. By coming together, these organizations are not just planting trees—they are sowing hope for a greener, more sustainable future.
