CNVP Office in Montenegro organized a lecture delivered by Dr. Marko Kazimirović from the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade, to enhance knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of integrated forest management and the impact of climate change on the survival and distribution of specific tree species.

Through two presentations, "Growth and Spread of Beech Under Climate Change" and "Will Climate Change Lead to the Extinction of the Endangered Spruce?", Dr. Kazimirović presented research findings and outlined potential future scenarios resulting from climate change.

The workshop was attended by key representatives from the forestry sector, including officials from the Ministry, the Forestry Administration, the Inspectorate, as well as representatives of private forestry companies, private forest owners, secondary vocational forestry schools, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Prior to the workshop, a lobbying meeting was held to engage institutional representatives in discussions on necessary measures and actions aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of climate change in the near future.

Additionally, Milica Kazimirović, representing the Chamber of Forestry Engineers of Serbia, delivered a presentation highlighting the chamber’s initiatives and emphasizing the necessity of continuous professional development programs for forestry engineers working within state institutions and organizations.

This project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by the CNVP Office in Montenegro.
