Zefi is a farmer from the Shala Valley, a remote and beautiful area in the north of Albania. With the support of CNVP Albania and a grant of 5,000 euros, he has started a new project to plant 150 chestnut trees on his land.

This investment is not only important for Zefi’s income, but also for the future of agriculture in his region. In his business plan, Zefi explains that he will use healthy seedlings and follow all the necessary agrotechnical steps. His goal is to reach 100% success in planting and help the trees start producing fruit as soon as possible.

Because of the special conditions in the area, Zefi will also install a metal fence to protect the trees from damage, and a drip irrigation system to make sure the trees get enough water in a smart and efficient way.

Zefi’s project is one of many supported by CNVP Albania through the sub-grants scheme. These small grants help local farmers and rural entrepreneurs grow their businesses and improve their land in a sustainable way. Projects like Zefi’s show how small support can bring big results.

This initiative is part of a larger project funded by the Austrian Development Agency and initiated by ICEP – weltweit mehr unternehmen. The project is led by CNVP Albania, which works closely with local farmers and communities to promote sustainable rural development.
