Harnessing Solar Power for Sustainable Growth in Delvina

In Delvina, a small town in southern Albania, CNVP Albania has completed an investment in clean energy, solar panels installed on the roof of a local women‑run business. This business, owned by Mrs. Vera Çeço, collects and dries medicinal plants, turning nature’s gifts into teas and oils that heal and comfort.
By adding solar power to their drying system, the company now runs almost entirely on sunlight, cutting electricity costs and reducing its carbon footprint.
What makes this project even more special is that Mrs. Vera employs other women from the community. These women learn every step of the process, from cleaning flowers to packaging the dried herbs, and they now have a stable income to support their families.
Thanks to CNVP’s LED project (Local Economic Development) funded by Swedish Government, these solar panels can dry plants more quickly and evenly, keeping the precious oils and natural scents intact.
By integrating solar panels into this medicinal plant drying facility, CNVP Albania has demonstrated how targeted clean‑energy investments can deliver tangible benefits. Since the installation, operational costs have significantly decreased, allowing the business to reinvest savings into product quality and workforce development.
This investment shows how clean energy and women’s leadership can grow together, giving Delvina a greener future and stronger, more independent families.
