CNVP Albania, through the project “Integrated Forest Management along Drin River Basin” (IFM), continues to empower local farmers and promote sustainable land use in protected areas.

One of the project’s grantees, Vladimir Vladaj, has successfully completed all his planned activities in Pecaj village, within the protected area of Shala Valley. With the support of the IFM project, he has:

  • Established a walnut plantation with 100 seedlings.
  • Installed a modern irrigation system to secure the growth and resilience of the plantation.
  • Built woven protective barriers to safeguard the seedlings from wild animals.

This initiative strengthens both the local economy and environmental protection. By diversifying income sources for rural families, while ensuring sustainable use of natural resources, the project demonstrates how small-scale interventions can bring long-term benefits to people and nature.

Through projects like this, CNVP Albania and its partners are committed to building resilient rural communities, conserving biodiversity, and supporting green economic opportunities in Albania’s protected areas.

IFM project is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), initiated by ICEP and implemented by CNVP Foundation in Albania.
