Supporting Sustainable Beekeeping in Shale Valley

For more than 30 years, Mark Gjeloshi has been devoted to beekeeping in the beautiful Shale Valley of Shkoder. What started as a personal passion has gradually grown into a family business and a sustainable source of income.
Over the years, Mark has gained deep knowledge about bees and their care. His dedication to maintaining the quality of his honey has made him well known in the local community. To further improve his work, Mark decided it was time to expand production while keeping the same high standards of quality.
Through the support of CNVP Albania’s project, “Integrated Forest Management along the Drin River Basin” (IFM), Mark has been able to purchase modern beekeeping equipment and packaging tools.
These investments are helping him increase efficiency, preserve honey under the right conditions, and continue protecting the surrounding environment he deeply values.
Mark’s story shows how local producers, with the right support, can strengthen their livelihoods while taking care of nature.
IFM project is funded by Austrian Development Cooperation, initiated by ICEP and implemented by CNVP Albania.
