We are proud to announce the signing of a partnership agreement between CNVP Kosovo, PromoPlast, and NTSH Dardani, a key step toward increasing and diversifying wood production from sustainably managed forest land in Kosovo.

This collaboration brings together three strong partners:

  • PromoPlast, a leading furniture producer known for its growing export-oriented operations and commitment to innovation in the wood processing sector.
  • NTSH Dardani, one of Kosovo’s largest forest exploitation and management companies, harvesting over 8,000 m³ of wood annually from private and public forests.
  • CNVP Kosovo, through the SUNREED program, supporting sustainable forestry, renewable energy, and rural development across the region.

Together, we aim to transform Kosovo’s forestry and wood processing landscape, turning locally sourced wood into high-value industrial products instead of firewood, while promoting sustainability and economic growth.

What this partnership will achieve:

  • Support private forest owners through the preparation of forest management plans and sustainable silvicultural practices.
  • Invest in sawmill machinery to process local wood into sawn timber for industrial and furniture production.
  • Install a biomass-based heating and drying system to efficiently use wood residues, improve energy efficiency, and enhance working conditions.

This initiative strengthens the local wood value chain, reducing reliance on imported raw materials. It also:

  1. Creates over 15 green jobs in forest management, processing, and logistics.
  2. Promotes a circular economy by reusing wood residues for biomass energy.
  3. Enhances sustainable forest management and long-term carbon storage.

By combining Dardani’s forest management expertise, PromoPlast’s industrial know-how, and CNVP’s sustainable development support, this initiative will build a more resilient, competitive, and environmentally responsible wood industry in Kosovo.

This initiative is part of the SUNREED program, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Prishtina (Sida) and implemented by CNVP Kosovo.
