How can data and local actions create real change in our forests and communities?

That’s what we explored on Friday during the workshop “From Reporting to Impact – Advocacy and Documentation of the Work of Women’s, Youth, and Association Groups,” organized by CNVP Kosovo together with women’s and youth groups, Private Forest Owner Associations, and the National Association of Private Forest Owners.

The workshop, was part of CNVP’s annual plan on capacity building of forest associations in gender mainstreaming, and raising awareness of the associations on human rights, anti-corruption, and peace/conflict situations.

The main goal of the gathering was to strengthen the capacities of women, youth, and private forest owner associations in effective data collection, reporting, advocacy, and public communication.

The most important takeaway from the workshop was the shift in mindset. We helped participants move from simply reporting activities toward achieving real, measurable impact, stronger advocacy, gender integration, and increased visibility of their contribution to sustainable forest management and rural development.

Key discussion points included:

  • Challenges in communication and reporting to institutions and donors
  • Types of data (qualitative and quantitative) required for clear reporting
  • Practical ways to document and organize activities
  • Real examples from forestry and rural-based projects

This activity was organized within the framework of the project “Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for Environment and Economic Development (SUNREED)”, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina (Sida).
