CNVP Kosovo Country Director, Mr. Xhevat Lushi, and CNVP Advisor, Mr. Hajrush Kurtaj, had the pleasure of meeting with Acting Executive Director of AMMK, Mr. Afrim Berisha, the Director of the National Park Directorate of ‘Bjeshkët e Nemuna,’ Mr. Fatmir Morina, and park staff to discuss the new joint project titled “Shaping the Future of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna Region.”

This project, officially supported by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) and the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation (Switzerland), aims to combine ecosystem conservation with socio-economic development in the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park.

The meeting was held to present key activities that will be included in strengthening of park staff capacities, implementing the Park Management Plan, developing guidelines for sustainable natural resource use, and increasing cooperation and awareness with local communities.

The project will be implemented by CNVP Kosovo, in partnership with NACOON GmbH (Germany), Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA), the ‘Bjeshkët e Nemuna’ National Park Directorate, and the Alfred Toepfer Academy for Nature Conservation, over a 36-month period.

This meeting marked an important step toward close collaboration and the implementation of activities that support both nature conservation and local development.
