The CNVP North Macedonia team held a coordination meeting with the Municipality of Debar
The CNVP North Macedonia team held a coordination meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Debar, Mr. Fisnik Mela, within the framework of the project ‘’Integration Forest Management Along the Drin River’’. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination to ensure the successful implementation of upcoming activities aimed at protecting and restoring forest ecosystems in the region.
During the meeting, the Director of CNVP North Macedonia, Mr. Nehat Ramadani, informed the mayor about the results achieved so far in the implementation of the project, highlighting its importance for sustainable forest management and for improving the environment within the Drin River basin. In addition, the upcoming activities were presented, which aim to further strengthen the local contribution to the protection of natural resources.
Special emphasis was placed on the preparations for the major reforestation event organized by CNVP, which will take place on March 17, 2026, in the Debar region, specifically in the village of Tatar Elevci Strelište. This event represents one of the most significant environmental actions in the region this year, during which 10,000 seedlings will be planted across an area of 5 hectares.
This initiative aims to contribute to the restoration of degraded forest areas, improve biodiversity, and strengthen natural protection against erosion and floods. At the same time, the event will serve as a strong example of joint action and partnership between local institutions, organizations, and citizens toward creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
Integrated Forest Management (IFM) along the Drin River Basin is a three-year regional project implemented by ICEP (Association for Global Development) and CNVP funded by the ADA (Austrian Development Agency). The project is being implemented in the transboundary catchment area of the Drin River, which includes Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
