Kosovo Hosts Nordic Bioenergy Leaders for New Partnerships
On Friday in Prishtina, the B2B Event: Investment and Kosovo-Sweden (Nordic) Partnership Opportunities in the Bioenergy Sector brought together Swedish, Nordic, and Kosovar stakeholders for an evening of dialogue and new business connections in the renewable energy sector.
The event hosted by CNVP Kosovo in collaboration with Bioenergy International, highlighted Kosovo’s growing potential in wood biomass and bioenergy, while opening the door for long-term partnerships, investments, and technology exchange with Sweden and the Nordic region.
The evening was opened by Xhevat Lushi, Country Director of CNVP Kosovo, who set the tone for a collaborative and forward-looking event focused on cooperation and shared green ambitions.
A special highlight was the support and participation of H.E. Ambassador Jonas Westerlund, Ambassador of Sweden to Kosovo, whose speech reinforced Sweden’s commitment to supporting Kosovo’s green transition and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

- Alan Sherrard from Bioenergy International
The second part of the event brought energy and excitement as Swedish and Nordic companies presented their technologies, products, and ideas for cooperation with Kosovo businesses.
Among the participating companies was Bruks Siwertel, a supplier of mobile forest chippers and harvesters, showcasing solutions that support efficient biomass collection and processing.
Siteconcept presented its expertise in designing and building efficient and sustainable combined heat and power plants and related industrial systems, with customized solutions for biomass-fueled energy production, including furnaces, fuel handling systems, flue gas cleaning, and automation technologies.
Representatives from Yohansly / Hekotek shared their experience in engineering and manufacturing equipment and technological solutions for wood processing and the bioenergy sector, while Yohansky / Muhlbock showcased specialized drying technologies for wood processing, including advanced kiln and steam-drying systems.
Firefly introduced advanced fire detection and suppression systems designed for industrial and energy facilities, highlighting the importance of safety and sustainability in biomass operations
This event marked another step toward strengthening Kosovo’s role in sustainable bioenergy and green energy cooperation.
This initiative is part of the SUNREED project, implemented by CNVP Kosovo and supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Pristina (Sida).
