CNVP participated in the third edition of Adriatic Wood Days (www.adriatic-wd.com). Held in Dubrovnik during 4-6 December 2017, the event addressed issues related to forestry, wood processing, wood energy, furniture production and creative industries. Topics discussed included:

• the future of bio-mass and the renewable energy sector;
• the position of pellets and cogeneration in the RED II directive;
• greater use of wood in construction;
• managing forests on islands;
• timber trade and wood products’ marketing;
• organizing the sector through clusters and associations;
• the importance of quality and certification; and
• hotel interiors and product design.

An important part of the programme addressed EU projects and funding, including a type of stock exchange platform. This allowed national and EU officers responsible for preparing future policies and strategies to exchange ideas and professional opinions with stakeholders, companies, sector associations, clusters, R&D institutions, NGOs, consultants, academics and the media, with a view to collaboration on future projects.
