CNVP attended the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) event in Geneva during 23-27 April 2018. Participants included PEFC National Governing Bodies (NGBs), International Stakeholder Members (of which CNVP is one), and PEFC Council Board Members, as well as PEFC Balkan coordinating partner, CNVP’s Sasho Petrovski.

As part of the event, the NGBs (including CNVP) received the PEFC NGB Qualified Trainer Programme where new NGB members and technical secretaries (France, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Ghana, Netherlands, Belgium and Japan) were presented with the roles of national NGBs representing the PEFC National System. In addition, the PEFC internal platform for communication of members (PODIO) was introduced as a channel for sharing knowledge and disseminating information. Open sessions actively discussed the ongoing revision of PEFC international standards, including forest management and chain-of-custody.

PEFC identified the important role played by CNVP in the Balkans in supporting the establishment and maintenance of PEFC national systems. As a result, CNVP is now well known among the NGBs.
