Twenty four CSOs from Korca Region met on 20 June 2018 to address issues related to sustainable natural resource management. Discussion covered the illegal cutting of trees, the relationship between forests, environment and climate change, and the importance of the Ohrid-Prespa Trans-boundary Biosphere Reserve (OPTBR).

All participating organisations agreed to create a Coalition For a Green Region. CNVP Albania was elected to the board which is comprised of 5 CSOs. CNVP will chair the board for the first 6 months.

The Coalition will focus on: sustainable forest management; energy efficiency; and management of OPTBR.

The Coalition will meet at least twice a year to discuss the situation, approve an action plan, and monitor the implementation of planned activities.
