Combating Forest Crime and Corruption - National Workshop, Montenegro

The project Regional Action for Combating Forest Crime and Corruption funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a workshop in Kola sin-Montenegro on 9 May 2019.

The event was attended by the General Secretary of the forestry sector in the Ministry and the Director of Forest Administration, as well as representatives of forestry concession holders, the NGO sector, local governments, forestry experts and members of the Coordination Committee for monitoring the action plan for suppressing illegal forestry activities in Montenegro.

Representative of the Coordination Committee outlined the results of activities to date, and identified next steps to make the action plan operational.

One workshop presentation covered the requirement for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification standards for forests with reference to illegal activities.
