On 2 August 2019, training on joint forest management (JFM) was organized by CNVP Kosovo, supported under the framework of the Sida-funded project Strengthening Sustainable Private and Decentralized Forestry.
Participants included staff from the Kosovo Forestry Agency and its Prizren regional office, the municipalities of Prishtina, Podujeva, Lipjan, Fushe Kosove, Drenas and Obiliq, as well as Associations of Private Forest Owners (APFOs).
The training provided information on best practice concerning JFM establishment, legal issues, management plan preparation and field implementation, duties and responsibilities of relevant institutions, APFO beneficiaries and local communities.
The training also included a field visit to see how to implement a management plan, define borders between parcels, mark trees, and apply other silvi-cultural treatments.
