CNVP held training on sustainable forest management related to integrated water management

From 6 to 8 November 2019 in Tirana, Albania was held three days training for sustainable forest management including the aspects of integrated management of forests (SFM) and catchment areas. 

The main objective of the training was knowledge delivery to key actors acting in the forestry sector in Albania through interactive training to reach the best impact on SFM, including aspects of integrated water and forest management.

The achievements of the training were:

  • New tool for calculation of water balance in forest watersheds is presented and able to use by participants 
  • Knowledge gained on current Legal framework arrangements and gap analyses steps forward
  • Knowledge gained on the linkage between forest management plan and watershed management 
  • Getting knowledge on Environment Impact Assesment and Strategic Environment Assesment

The training was held as a part of the project “Generating momentum on water and forests in the Balkans - Balkans GeM”, funded by Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) and implemented by the Research Institute for Forest Ecology and Forestry (FAWF) and Connecting Natural Values and People Foundation (CNVP).
