The CNVP team and Sweden Embassy, through the LED project, continue supporting the medicinal plant sector in Devolli Municipality.
An area of 5000 ha of wild medicinal plants is certified as an organic product, improving the quality of the MAPs in the organic market and increasing the incomes for producers and local businesses.
Drying is the first and most important process for preserving plants after harvest. Under the support and coordination of CNVP experts, an engineering company is dealing with the construction of innovative drying systems in Albania. This dryer is a completely innovative system that is introduced for the first time and is 100% solar-powered and cost-free. CNVP facilitated the cooperation with exporters and invited them to invest in the Medicinal Plants production system. This will help the sector and the people involved there.
These activities and project progress are discussed with partners in the Municipality of Devoll, private businesses, and farmers during the visit of the Swedish Embassy and CNVP staff in Devolli on 21 May 2022.
