Gender Advisors from Sida’s Department for Europe and Latin America, Ulrika Holmström and Ida Petersson together with program officers from Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, Ermelinda Xhaja and Rezarta Katuci visited on Tuesday the Local Economic Development (LED) project partners in Petrela Administrative Unit in Tirana.

LED - a Sida funded project - in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders, is supporting systemic change in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) sector in Albania for increased incomes for rural communities.

Gender mainstreaming is at the heart of the project implementation being integrated through all the interventions such as promotion of MAPs organic cultivation, introduction and testing of innovative approaches in the MAPs sector to highlight just a few.
