On July 26, 2023, a momentous event marked the next phase of the "Integrated Forest Management (IFM) along the Drin River Basin" project. An official ceremony was held, resulting from extensive discussions and collaborative proposals, where representatives from the Kosovo Forestry Agency and CNVP came together to sign a crucial document - the Memorandum of Understanding.

The primary purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is the continuation of cooperation between the Kosovo Forestry Agency and CNVP, seamless coordination of activities, and efforts and protect the areas designated for the IFM project's implementation. The project's vision includes afforestation using modern methods and innovative "shelter tubs," planting fast-growing species to promote sustainable growth, and implementing silvicultural treatments in degraded forests through rehabilitation and conversion.

CNVP, acknowledging the paramount significance of this collaboration, believes that the close alliance with the Kosovo Forestry Agency will be instrumental in achieving the project's ambitious objectives. The collaborative efforts are expected to have long-term positive impacts on the targeted areas, leaving a sustainable legacy for generations to come.

At the forefront of this ground-breaking partnership is Mr. Fidan Dema, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Forestry Agency, who passionately embraced the initiative. Through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, Mr. Dema personally committed to fulfilling all the agreed-upon obligations. His unwavering support will be instrumental in the successful implementation of the IFM project during the planned three-year period, spanning from December 2022 to December 2025.

This project is implemented by CNVP, funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and ICEP, with support of Lenzing AG.
